Custom Orders
Printer friendly version
Custom orders are not returnable or exchangeable for obvious reasons. Please ensure that you measure very carefully and if needed once, twice even three times! It is also a good idea to measure with another person as it can be very challenging to measure children that are in wheelchairs or in bed! If you measure incorrectly it is your responsibility and if you need the items redone you will have to pay for the cost!! I am working on a “how to measure” video (coming soon) that may make things easier as I understand how challenging it can be.
Note:
There is a 2 piece minimum for custom orders.
I understand that it can be very difficult to measure children that have high tone, contractures and other special challenges. I have a suggestion to make it easier for you and avoid difficulties when ordering custom clothes: first measures the child or adult and then measure their clothing that they are already wearing and that you know fits! Below you will find the "how to’s" for that:
Lay the garment flat on a flat surface and with your measuring tape start with the following:
Chest:
With the garment open measure straight across the back from armpit to armpit and double it to get your total circumference.
Waist:
Look for where the garment gets the smallest (usually the 5th button from the top) Measure it straight across and double it to get your total circumference.
Hips:
Usually you can tell just by looking at the garment as it is the fuller part below the waist. In adults it is approximately 10 inches below the waist. Measure straight across and double it to get your circumference.
Arm Length:
Measure from the top of the shoulder seam straight down the outside of the sleeve.
Inseam:
This is the measurement from the crotch straight down to the end of the pants( to the top of the foot). Tip: Most people’s wrist is at crotch level so you can also measure from the wrist straight down to the bottom of the pants(top of the foot).
Outseam:
Measure straight down the outside of the leg from the waist to the bottom of the pant.
Highest point of shoulder to g-tube:
From the shoulder seam to where the g-tube sits. You can use a fabric pencil to mark this on their existing shirt as it will come out in the wash.
Left side of the body to where the g-tube sits. From the left seam of the shirt to where the g-tube sits. Again you can use a fabric pencil to mark this on their existing shirt as it will come out in the wash.
