Residents of Alberta with children with special needs
Please be aware that there is an annual clothing allowance of $400 available through Family Support for Children with Disabilities in the province of Alberta, and you simply need to contact your social worker.


Residents of British Columbia
The Queen Alexandra Society for Children provides funding for Adaptive Clothing through The Bear Essentials Fund! The client needs to fill out an application form through their local physiotherapist or Occupational therapist.

Residents of Ontario

  1. Ministry of Children and Families
    ACSP Program (Assistance to Children with Severe Disabilities). Call 1-416-325-0050 to find the name, number and address of the office in your region. You will be assigned a social worker or family support worker if you do not already have one and start an application for the funding you will receive anywhere from $25-430 a month depending on your financial situation and the severity of your child’s disabilities.

  2. Ontario Disability Support Program

    Adaptive clothing in their list disability related approved items. Funding is available to families with lower incomes and to adults with special needs.

  3. A Children’s Voice
    www.acvf.ca
    Funding is available for adaptive clothing.

  4. Autism Ontario
    www.autismontario.ca

    The Family Funding Program is available once a year and adaptive clothing is covered under the program. You just need to fill out an application and start the process.


Residents of Colorado
You will need to first have a family support worker who will help determine your eligibility and then help you to fill out the applications. There is funding available to help you buy adaptive clothing for your child or adult in your life.

Residents of Texas
The Supplemental Security Income Program of Texas: www.socialsecurity.gov/pgm/links_ssi.htm does cover adaptive clothing!! Also, Texas Medicaid covers adaptive clothing : www.hhsc.state.tx.us/medicaid


Washington State Department of Social and Health Services has a new program called Individual and Family Services Program operated by the Division of Developmental Disabilities. They provide funding to families with children for special needs in order to obtain specialized nutrition and clothing as well as many other needs.

Complete an assessment and receive between $2000 - 6000 annually. If you are purchasing clothing you need to first get a receipt or invoice and present it to the department; you will receive reimbursement for the cost. For more information, visit www.dshs.wa.gov.


Residents of West Virginia
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will find the brochure and application to get you started in applying for the funding that is available for you to purchase adaptive clothing for your child or adult. I believe that it starts at $200 annually:
